Maple Glazed Chicken Wings


1kg(2 1/2lbs) Chicken Wings

125 ml (4 fl oz.)Pure Maple Syrup

80 ml (5 tbs.) Chili Sauce

1 Small Onion - chopped

30 ml (2 tbs.) Cider Vinegar

15 ml (1 tbs.) Mustard

5 ml (1 tsp.) Worcestershire Sauce


Combine the pure maple syrup, chili sauce, onion, cider vinegar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce in a shallow dish. Marinate the chicken wings for a minimum of four hours in the refrigerator, keeping covered and turning occasionally. Grill, oven bake or barbeque the chicken wings until thoroughly cooked, basting occasionally. As an alternative, chicken drumsticks are equally delicious.


Spicy Maple Syrup Dressing


30 ml (2 tbs.) Pure Maple Syrup

15 mm (1 tbs.) Horseradish sauce

60 ml (4 tbs.) Red wine vinegar

80 ml (5 tbs.) Olive Oil

1 clove of garlic, finely crushed


Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Chill and serve with salad or crudities.



Maple Squares



Mix together:

1/3 c of marg. or butter

2 Eggs

1 c of Maple Syrup

Mix with above, putting in flour gradually:

1 1/4 cups flour

2 tsp. baking powder

Pinch of salt

1 c walnuts-chopped

Stir then bake in square pan at 350 degrees for 25 minutes (over if needed). Let cool before topping.


Sprinkle with chopped nuts while the pudding is still hot. When cold, cover with the whipped cream and serve.

Toppings:

1 c maple syrup

1/4 c milk

4 tbsp. marg

Maple Glazed Cookies


1 cup dark amber real maple syrup
1/2 cup shortening ( not oil )
Beat well with electric mixer
Add 1 (one) egg
Beat well
Sift together:
2 cups Pillsbury All-Purpose Flower
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt


Maple Glaze Topping:
1/4 stick margarine or butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

1 to 2 Tbsp. milk
Maple extract


Heat butter in 1 1/2q saucepan over med. heat until delicate brown.
Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in milk ( or cream ) until
smooth. Add maple extract to taste.


Mix dry ingredients well with syrup mixture. Batter will be a little thicker than whipped cream. Cover and refrigerate for one hour.
Drop by small spoonful's on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten and
spread out slightly. Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes until just beginning to brown. Remove immediately to cooling rack. Cool and top with maple glaze.

Maple Syrup Bars

1/2 of sugar

1 c of oatmeal

1 egg

1 tsp of vanilla

 1 1/3 cup of flour

1/2 cup of oil

1/2 cup of maple syrup

1/2 tsp of powder

1 c walnuts


Stick in the oven at 350 for 30-35 minutes in a small square. Can be doubled if desired.

Maple Walnut Cream Pudding


12 c. milk

1 c. maple syrup

2T. cornstarch

1/4t. salt

2 eggs

1/2 c. chopped walnuts

1 c. whipping cream


Scald 1 3/4 c. milk with the maple syrup in the top of a double boiler. Combine the remaining milk with the cornstarch and salt and add gradually, stirring constantly, to the hot mixture. Cook 25 minutes. Then add this mixture to eggs slightly beaten. Cook 5 minutes. Pour into  serving dish and sprinkle with chopped nuts while the pudding is still hot. When cold, cover with the whipped cream and serve.

Baked Ham

1 c water

30 cloves

3/4 c maple sugar

3 tbs. dry mustard

3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp. all

1/2 tsp. nutmeg


Blend all spices together and glaze the ham. Cook for 18 minutes per 1 pound of ham at 320 degrees.

Maple Glazed Carrots

10 medium carrots

3 tablespoons butter

1 cup Pure Maine Maple Syrup

1/2 teaspoon ginger


Slice carrots. Cook until tender. Add Pure Maine Maple Syrup, ginger and butter. Simmer carrots in maple syrup mixture until glazed.

Maple Balsamic Dressing


1/4 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard (Stoneground) or Dijon
2 tablespoons balsamic vinaigrette
1 tablespoon Halls Maple Syrup
Ground pepper if desired
