It was too cold for sap to run on Maine Maple Sunday, but no worries....the weather is now cooperating (warm days, cold nights) so that we have been able to make more than 200 gallons of syrup so far this season.
Since it takes 40 gallons of sap to make a gallon of syrup, that means that we have collected 8000 gallons of sap so far, with more on the way.
Spring has arrived in East Dixfield...nothing could be sweeter!
